Band Camp 2010

Band camp, a day where members forget their musical practices and burdens, where ex-members come back together to show their juniors the wild side of themselves, where members get to experience an over-night stay in school. It was the 2010 band camp.

Members awake to the morning of the12th of June with much eagerness. Starting with the conclusion to their 5 day intensive practicing with one final run-through with this year’s programme “The Prince of Egypt”.

During noon, members unload their baggage and switched to their game-faces, because after lunch, it was time for the annual game matches, organized by the ex-members who came back to Sitiawan so to enjoy the moment with the current members.

Members were divided into groups of 8 or 9, and soon, a total of 9  groups were formed. Then at 2pm, the games started off.

At 5pm, the matches ended, and members were all filled with battle “scars” from all the stands.

At 6pm, all the members gathered inside the band room to watch the movie “The Prince of Egypt” so to better understand the show they will be performing.

And no band camp will be complete with the annual Barbeque night. At 8pm, members gathered behind the school to enjoy the food and fellowship.

After a day full of running, cheering and laughter, all were ready to tuck into their sleeping bags and call the day off, and by 10:30pm, all the lights in the band room went off.

A big thank-you to the alumni team for spending time with this year’s members, and to organize all the game stands. We also thank the school authorities for allowing us to use the school facilities.
