Kuala Gula One Day Trip

On the 21st of December, which is two days after a memorable Passing-Out, the band sets off for a one day trip to Kuala Gula which is a fishing village located near Taiping. At 7am in the morning, the bus sets off for the 2 hour journey to their first stop at Taiping. During the journey, a short break is taken for a quick breakfast.
After a few hours, we arrived at our first destination which is the Taiping Museum. Many fascinating artefacts and histories lies in it and it is definitely an educational trip.

The next stop is the famous Taiping Zoo which is just a few minutes' drive. The group took a tour around the zoo on a mini train and enjoyed viewing different kinds of animals.

Around 12 pm, we set of on another journey to Kuala Gula which is around 45 minutes away from Taiping. We all had a rest on the bus and arrived the 1st stop of Kuala Gula which is the Charcoal factory just 10 before 1pm. A tour guide is introduced to us and took us on a tour around the factory. The tour guide also filled us with information about the making of charcoal and its uses.

After that, we had a delicious lunch of Fried Crab Meehoon at a famous restaurant. After replenishing our energy, we set off on another exciting journey.
The rest of the day trip is followed by a tour to a Salted Duck Egg factory and the making of Belacan. After that, we went to a traditional Chinese temple which is famous for its statues of the 18th level hell. The day was really sunny and hot. A lot of photographs are taken as a memory of this wonderful trip.

The most exciting part of the trip is the boat ride around the river surrounding the mangrove forest. The scenery is really beautiful and everyone had a lot of fun. The most fun part is when everyone get turns to try to drive the motor boat. The driver of the boat is really generous and helped everyone to learn to drive it. Everyone had a lot of laughs.

After an exciting the boat trip, the group head over to a seafood restaurant and enjoyed a dinner of seafood. There's fried crabs, curry fish, fried prawns and many more. Everyone was content and full.
Lastly, around 8pm, the tour guide took us on a trip into the rubber tree estate to see the beautiful fireflies that we rarely see in the city. We had to walk for 15 minutes or so into the dark rubber tree estate but the hard work pays off as we get to view the amazing sight of the fireflies shining in the night.
The group departed Kuala Gula around 9pm. Everyone was exhausted but it was a memorable fun day.
